The Animaniacs are Back!!

One of my favorite young men who happens to have special needs asked me if I knew who the Animaniacs are?  HELLO NURSE!!! Lots of late nights in the 90's spent with these characters. This cake was so much fun, but the reaction was the greatest ever. His mother asked me if I would make it and I couldn't wait to chat and find out what his dream cake would look like.  I think we got it!

Princess One Year Old Cake

Sweet 16 with a Fall Theme

This one was for a sweet friend and  her daughter.  She is having a fall theme party and wanted a whimsical theme cake with trees and fall leaves.  I hope she likes it.

Her Favorite Teddy Bear

This was by far the biggest cake I have made to date.  6x my typical cake recipe.

This customer wanted her favorite bear with a very specific shirt.
We had to come to a compromise.  I hope she likes it.

A Picky Customer

This is my adorable neighbor Libby.  She came to me with a request.  Lots of purple, a little pink, and Rapunzel all by herself with her hair.  Oh, and Pascal!  I think she was happy.

A Special Birthday Cake!

My friend instant messaged me Wednesday evening telling me her son had wanted a Lego cake, that she felt confident she could do, until that day when he declared a new idea for a cake.  "He wants a hammer head shark and turtles. Can you help me?"  I love a challenge and I got to work.  It was done and ready for his Saturday birthday party.  This was so much fun.  Thanks Kenton for changing your mind, and thanks Melissa for thinking of me!!

Ruffles ~ the First Attempt

We had a baby shower tonight for a dear friend so I decided I would try to make ruffles.  The ruffles definitely got better as I went along.  There are a few things  I will do different next time but over all I am pretty happy with it!

Ninja Style

A friends darling daughter planned herself a ninja birthday party.  I was super excited to do something different so I set out on my first cake pop experience.  Instead of chocolate, I covered these in frosting with a little meringue to help them set a bit. They were lots of fun and now I am not so afraid of cake pops!!

Pioneer Day meets the Birthday Boy!

The 24th of July is Pioneer Day in Utah.  Sure I don't live there any more but some traditions fall hard.  We had a picnic at church to celebrate this day and were asked to bring a dessert to share.  One of the boys at church's birthday happens to fall on this same day.  SO... what a great excuse to make a cake.  I had no idea what I would do but it just took on a life of its own.  The smile on his face was worth every minute!  Happy Birthday Neal!

Music Lover

I was pretty nervous about this one.  It was made for a friend whose daughter is having a 16th birthday bash with her friends.  She sent me a picture and asked if I could help her do it.  Of course I said yes.... and then worried.  I had visions of those cakes on Cake Wrecks.  I am happy with how it turned out and as usual learned a few things along the way.

Laser Tag Party for Two

What do you make for your 11 year old son and his best friends birthday that is being held at a Laser Tag place??  Well, this is what I did. The frosting is a simple  butter cream because I thought that much  fondant would be a little over kill.  And who doesn't like glow sticks?  The boys were happy and that makes me happy!

Angry Birds Obi Wan Kenobi

I am pretty sure my son wanted to give me a challenge he didn't think I could do.  But HA!!!

Minnie Inspired

This one was too much fun.  But leave it to children to put you in your place.  When my daughter came down and saw this she said, "It's great mom, but where is her head and arms?".  Oops....  Maybe next year.

A Little Camo

It's all about the camo these days with my boys. I did a camo cake last year for another birthday so I thought we might try something a little different, cupcakes!
The key for these was the frosting.  YUM!!
